Building a scalable UX ecosystem for a nationwide B2B2C healthcare platform with virtual care, ADA compliance, and multi-brand design consistency.
As Risant partners with multiple hospitals nationwide, each with unique branding, creating a consistent user experience across all partner brands became a critical challenge.
With the rise in telehealth, patients needed seamless on-demand access to virtual care. Current systems lacked quick, user-friendly appointment booking and remote interaction.
VBCG and RPRT applications had accessibility issues in critical areas, requiring a complete overhaul to align with Kaiser standards and ADA guidelines.
I joined the Risant Organization and researched that this approach is a B2B2C model — Risant partnering with hospitals across the USA to enhance healthcare user experience through seamless, accessible features.
Risant's goal is to provide on-demand virtual care and one-click appointment booking. This UX case study outlines the responsibilities and strategies for creating a default design system, ensuring UX consistency and accessibility, and collaborating across multiple product streams.
Extensively analyzed the market landscape to define what the team could execute with given resources, establish competitive advantages, and define core vs. secondary product features. Leadership required an integrated approach to track activity and empower local and remote usage of consistent templates across the organization.
The default design system was designed to be adaptable across various partner hospital brands, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and alignment with Kaiser standards.
Initially the UX team explored 3rd-party design systems, but upon extensive research concluded to white-label Kaiser's internal design system as a base — then enhance and build on top of it, ensuring brand authority and long-term scalability.
A documentation tool focusing on accurate medical recordkeeping. Designed interfaces supporting medical professionals in efficiently documenting care with clarity, ease of navigation, and intuitive data entry aligned with standard medical practices.

Building a comprehensive WCAG-compliant design system from scratch using Atomic Design — eliminating inconsistency, reducing iterations, and creating a shared design language organization-wide.
I joined a Customer System Department to build an Application with an Overview Dashboard and inner pages for Data Scientists to create and monitor Data Models. When I began designing, I discovered a critical gap: there was no design system or guidelines in place.
Due to inconsistency of components across various applications within the same organization, the look and feel varied dramatically — undermining brand trust and increasing engineering overhead. I seized the opportunity to initiate and build a complete design system end to end.

Defined element structure and usage guidelines using Atomic Design methodology — organizing atoms, molecules, and organisms in Figma.
Designed components and created an organized Figma library with accessibility testing, voice-over validation, and platform-specific adaptations.
We catalogued all components across platforms in Figma, organizing them into atoms, molecules, and organisms. We started with atoms — the smallest units that form the foundation: typography, colors, and spacing. This systematic approach ensured every subsequent component was built on a solid, accessible foundation.
Evaluated text and background color combinations based on WCAG recommended ratios. High color contrast helps color-blind users. Tested voice-over features for full accessibility compliance.
Adopted adaptive design approach — components are platform-friendly. For example, dropdown components are made specifically for desktop and mobile interactions.
Following Jakob's law — clean and minimal design, rounded corners, vibrant colors, smooth shadows. Stepping up UI to meet the visual standards users expect.
Accessible-compliant color system with primary, secondary, and support colors — documented with typographic scale, responsive grid system, and layout utilities.
Replacing a costly 3rd-party subscription with a custom-built, LLM-enhanced survey authoring platform that transformed internal survey creation end-to-end.
This case study focuses on Survey Authoring — an application that allows users to create, distribute, and analyze surveys for internal use by individuals, businesses, and management leaders. In response to user feedback and evolving standards, the product team implemented significant UX improvements while replacing an expensive 3rd-party tool.
The existing survey building application was a highly paid 3rd-party tool. The client planned to build their own Survey Tool to end this subscription — requiring a complete UX redesign of all capabilities from scratch, plus new features.
Provide various customization options — themes, fonts, colors — to align surveys with brand identity.
Improve UI/UX and navigation to enhance user experience and streamline survey creation workflows.
Implement WCAG 2.0 enhancements ensuring the application is usable by all individuals.
As part of building this new product, a Large Language Model (LLM) was introduced to enhance user engagement and provide a better experience while creating a survey. This AI layer assists users in generating, refining, and optimizing survey questions — dramatically reducing the time from concept to deployment.
Participants praised the simplified navigation and intuitive layout, facilitating a smoother survey creation process. Average usability score rose to 4.4 out of 5.
Significant improvement in theme, font, and color scheme selection. Advanced skip logic and branching options empowered more dynamic, tailored surveys.

Designing intuitive UX for an Application Performance Monitoring solution — translating complex telemetry data into clear, actionable interfaces for developers and operations teams.
AppDynamics is an Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solution used by enterprises to monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance in real-time. The platform surfaces complex technical metrics across distributed systems to enable rapid issue identification and resolution.
As a UX designer on this project, the core challenge was taking deeply technical, high-volume data and making it instantly comprehensible and actionable for users ranging from developers to C-suite executives.
APM platforms surface enormous volumes of telemetry data. The challenge was creating hierarchical visual systems that surfaced what matters most without overwhelming users.
The interface needed to serve developers debugging code, DevOps teams managing infrastructure, and business leaders tracking SLA compliance — each requiring different information hierarchies.
Dashboards needed to handle continuous data streams without creating visual noise or cognitive fatigue during high-pressure incident response scenarios.
Mapping dependencies between microservices, databases, and external APIs required innovative visualization patterns that communicated relationships clearly at a glance.
Conducted interviews and contextual inquiry with developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to map mental models and pain points.
Restructured navigation and data hierarchy to support different user journeys — from quick anomaly detection to deep-dive analysis.
Designed intuitive data visualizations — charts, topology maps, flow diagrams — optimized for clarity, speed, and pattern recognition.
Applied progressive disclosure throughout the interface — showing summary-level data by default, with contextual drilling available on demand. This reduced cognitive load significantly while keeping full analytical power accessible when needed.
Simplifying Brand Performance & Approvals — replacing 120+ PowerPoint slides with real-time, brand-specific Power BI dashboards that transformed decision-making across pharmaceutical brand teams.
As part of AbbVie's digital transformation in commercial operations, we delivered two critical dashboards: the KPI Tracker Dashboard and the Brand Approval Dashboard. These tools were designed to enhance performance visibility, streamline brand governance, and support data-driven decision-making across marketing and operational teams.
These dashboards provide real-time insights into key performance indicators, brand approval workflows, and milestone tracking — empowering stakeholders to act quickly and confidently.
Brand teams were navigating PowerPoint decks with 120+ slides that were not tailored to individual brand needs and were painful to navigate. Non-technical users found the tools inaccessible and time-consuming. Data was fragmented across systems, and the approval process was often delayed due to a lack of real-time, actionable insights.
The solution needed to go beyond good visuals. What these teams truly needed was a way to make complex data approachable, an interface aligned with how decisions are actually made, and a system that worked for everyone — not just the tech-savvy.
Data scattered across systems made consistent reporting impossible, forcing manual aggregation and increasing error rates.
Bi-weekly brand evaluations lacked clear action indicators, causing delays and confusion across marketing, legal, and compliance teams.
Brand managers and decision-makers required an intuitive interface — not a tool that demanded technical expertise to derive insights.
Manually produced slide decks were the primary reporting mechanism — a bottleneck in decision-making that consumed hours each week.
Conducted stakeholder kickoffs, created design scope, and planned activities and timelines. Aligned on known requirements and existing research assumptions.
Conducted user interviews with brand managers, analysts, and stakeholders. Studied personas, tasks, and scenarios. Mapped day-to-day decisions to uncover where UX could make the greatest impact.
Facilitated ideation and prioritization workshops. Finalized homepage design with an iterative approach and began creating pattern library components.
Delivered Hi-Fi wireframes for all MVP flows, a design pattern library, best practices documentation, and a clickable prototype.
Each brand had its own tailored view highlighting what mattered most for that team, based on persona and role.

Visual status indicators quickly highlighted what required action, making bi-weekly brand reviews faster and clearer for all stakeholders.
Built reusable Figma templates tailored for Power BI and Power Apps — respecting technical constraints while allowing future growth.
Simplifying Reporting Dashboards — unifying Centene's fragmented Power BI ecosystem into a cohesive One List Portfolio Hub with a validated UX roadmap and WCAG-compliant standards for executive leadership.
Centene's reporting ecosystem consisted of multiple Power BI dashboards created by different teams over time — resulting in inconsistent layouts, varying visual patterns, and accessibility gaps. The goal was to modernize the reporting experience, establish a unified design system, and ensure all dashboards aligned with Centene's brand, usability standards, and accessibility expectations.
As UX Strategist, I led the end-to-end UX direction: defining reusable templates, standardizing interaction patterns, improving accessibility, and collaborating closely with developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
Centene's reporting landscape had grown rapidly. Different teams created dashboards for their own needs, often without shared standards or central design direction. Users were navigating a maze of reports — many redundant, some outdated, others containing overlapping information presented in completely different ways.
Centene didn't just need new dashboards — they needed a unified reporting experience. One that consolidated scattered information, reduced redundant screens, minimized clicks, and brought clarity to the entire reporting ecosystem. That's where UX stepped in.
Users jumped between multiple dashboards, each with its own layout, filters, and navigation patterns — requiring multiple screens to answer a single question.
Important insights were buried under layers of interactions. Even experienced users felt like they were learning a new tool every time they opened a report.
Decisions were delayed, data was misinterpreted, and teams spent unnecessary time searching for the "right" version of a report — creating real governance risk.
Developers maintained dozens of similar dashboards, each built differently — leading to significant rework, inconsistency, and slow delivery cycles.
Conducted stakeholder kickoffs with portfolio and sub-portfolio leadership. Created design scope and planned all design activities and timelines.
Conducted user interviews with analysts and business stakeholders. Studied personas, tasks, and scenarios. Mapped day-to-day decisions to uncover where UX could make the greatest difference.
